Flower nut shaft bent? Clutch slips and won’t engage but sticks if I tighten flower nut

Earlier while trying to pedal start my bike the clutch stuck. So I grabbed a hammer and went to unstick it. When I exposed the flower nut and clutch plate I saw that it was bent off center. I hoped this didn’t matter too much so after unsticking and putting everything back together I noticed that it was slipping and wasn’t engaging properly. I opened it up again and tightened the nut, and it immediately stuck when I went to try and start it. Im curious as to what this piece is, and what to do to replace it. I’m thinking the shaft and the flower nut is all that I need to get it back in normal working order but it’s a bit difficult to figure out what exactly that piece is called. Any and all help appreciated, I’m hoping to avoid needing a whole new clutch

I think that piece is called the mandrel? Or pushpin potentially?

After removing the (bevel gear?) with the clutch pads, the thing still doesn’t spin freely....later on I plan to pull off the drive sprocket just to take a further look at everything. If something looks wrong please speak up.....it’d be cool to not have to replace the whole clutch but idk what’s actually going on here

Have you greased the bucking bar and ballbearing on the chain side? That could be binding.

My chain was jammed in the housing. After taking off the sprocket everything moved freely. I’m hoping that when it all goes back together it’s in working order, the shaft that the flower nut goes on is still off center

Pull the pin or bar as we call it out and put axle grease in the hole before putting the cover back on, a little on the outer end will help prevent wear on the cam as well.

When the chain rides up like that it’s usually because the chain was too loose.

Yeah I tried to start it to check on my gasket seals before I tensioner the chain and learned that the hard way.....everything is together now, clutch is a bit loose still but I don’t want to tighten the flower nut too much on that bent mandrel/ pushpin shaft thing that I plan to replace in the near future
