Engine mount won't fit on oversized tubing

Hello my friend is trying to mount his engine kit 66cc Zoombicycles 2 stroke
on his mountain bike downtube is pretty big and won't even fit the oversized attachment U-Bolt that it came with. Do you think the bestway to go is to go to a hardware store and just buy a Bigger U-bolt?

Welcome...yes there all kinds of solutions in here. Yes very common as you will see looking at the many bikes members post. The problem is that very few bikes made out there that has the ideal 75 degree "V".
