Electrical Problems - No spark

Hey guys,
I've got an interesting problem.

My neighbor and I each have a 2 stroke, mine 67 and his 50, and his stopped working recently.
His engine is no longer sparking - we checked by putting the plug on the outside of the engine, so as to see the spark, and there wasn't one. At all.
We swapped out each electrical component to my bike, the spark plug, CDI, and magneto, and they all work - on my bike. We disconnected the kill switch as well.
When we put them back on his bike, it still fails to spark. The only other electrical component left, that we could not swap, is the spinning part of the magneto, and that is firmly attached, spins, and does not touch the rest of the magneto at all.

Any ideas what could be causing this problem?
Thanks,
Sam

i had a magnet go bad it happens sometimes some are weak from the factory andthey die after they heat and cool over time

Thanks!
On that note, did you notice any performance gain (Not over the bike not working, but) over your average before?

the motor didn't last long enough to tell if it was all that much stronger but the spark was better than before
