Why use a resister plug?

Are you worried about RFI?

The BP6HIX would be better suited to the low tech HT ignition.

I think the 5k resistor in this plug may stress the already weak HT ignition.

NO such part as BP6HIX. That small resistance does't lower the HV much at all. Plug works great.
