We have plenty of hills around here. Im very pleased with climbing performance with a 40 tooth, and pedal assisting on the real steep climbs. slowest I have had to go is 40km/h (pedal assisted of course.)
I want to know how people decend. I have been braking on my decends to eekp the motor from overreving. Im I better to throw the clutch in and save the motor for when its needed. Kill the motor completly and clutch down and restart motor at the bottom?
Is it going to cause excessive wear on the clutch?

if the motor is running with no throttle while coasting down hill. you can melt your motor from lack of proper lubrication provided in gas.

I wonder how many of you out there have wreaked your engine from having the throttle closed going down hill? I haven't had that problem maybe I'm doing it wrong.rotfl

I always de-clutch going down steeper hills, the lesser ones, I keep the throttle on just enough so there is no drive line snatch.
