Just curious if anyone has ever temperature tested the transmission reducer gearbox commonly adapted onto 2 stroke engine. I was wondering if anyone could let me in on as to whether or not it gets super hot, preferably with a number value if possible! Thanks gents.

Unsure of the 3:1 box.

On my 5:1 gearbox which reverses engine direction, It's warm to the touch.

Warm, because aluminum construction transfers heat from the hot engine.

My 3:1 won't reverse engine direction, right? I dont think I ever even considered that as a possibility. The manufacturing specs didn't mentione anything about direction reversal. Inside it's got 2 sprockets, so Im not sure about that lol

I didn't realize you bought a 3:1 transmission.
Yours doesn't reverse engine rotation.
