D.I.Y. Truing Stand

I started messing around putting a couple wheels together.
Over the last year or so.
Just flipping the bike over and truing it on the bike.
Works, a little akward.
A spare fork i used too.

Started looking around the net for a DIY truing stand...there are tons.

Thought i would share my version.

Made all from stuff scattered around the garage.(organized clutter)
Oak boards, metal angle and strip.
Glued and nailed base side.


Adjustable to any lenght axle.
2 adjustable C-clamps hold the affair down.

Fully adjustable gauge with magnet(in ductape).
Up/down, with or without tire.

Should work with a 29er to anything on down.
Its not perfect but it works way better than the bike method.
Wish i would have made this earlier.

Niiice! Thank you for sharing! I just made one with a bicycle fork - it works ok, but not for a rear wheel with the 135mm spacing, I think i'll try to make one too!

Happy to plant the seed.
Was an afternoon project.
Gave it a coat of polyurethane. Looks like furniture now.
Added a piece of slippy UHD plastic to the wheel 'gauge', the yellow electrical tape was grabby on the rim.
Started to fiddle with fats, so I wanted something that would fit different axle lengths.
Probably don't have to use the adjustable side if you crank the bolt/QR to the left side, maybe to heavy like that with a big tire on it though.
The part I like best about this stand is the simple magnetic adjustment.
