I had a minor little crash a few weeks back that caused no visible damage to my e-bike (gave me a nice strawberry). Upon restart, my throttle was stuck wide open. Throttle would physically move, but power remained wide open.
After pedalling home, I disassembled the e-throttle. The throttle twist spring sent the internal parts soaring across my garage. It looked like the magnet, or a magnetized piece of iron, had fallen from its bracket during the crash. I put the throttle back together, but then it worked bass ackwards. I had max power at idle, and no power at max throttle setting.
I opened the throttle housing again and reversed the orientation of the magnetized piece.
It went back together after struggling several minutes with that twist spring.
The ebike was finally working right again. No cost. Just irritation.
