O obesepolice Member Dec 10, 2012 #2 You should replace it before running it. Ring could break more and damage the whole motor.
moonerdizzle New Member Dec 10, 2012 #3 do not run your motor with a broken ring, it will ruin your cylinder. pm me, i got a set of rings for you.

BikeBerryJen Engine Diva Dec 10, 2012 #6 You still need two ... having a broken ring will cause low/no compression. Same concept as not having any.

moonerdizzle New Member Dec 10, 2012 #7 if these motors ran real rings your could use a single ring, many mopeds only use one ring, it allows for higher rpms and less friction.
