Clutch Pad Materials

It's the same material that's used on Polini or DM pocketbike clutch shoes. It's a lot more duriable and harder than the OEM pucks. We've put them in numerous bikes and every bike is still on their first set.

Oh, OK. I've been wondering about what materials are used in general, so far I've seen cork, high temp rubber, paper board, ceramics and carbon base materials mentioned. It would be nice to know how to fabricate the pads in a manner that is low to no cost and environmentally friendly. I've done some trial runs with rubber pucks that I cut out of an old dried up tire. So far, So good, but you have to make sure the rubber isn't too sticky or it will cause trouble. I wonder how cork would do? I've heard that cork is relatively inexpensive and a good friction material.
