Clutch actuator camshaft retaining pin name?

Hi guys, I hope this is the right place to ask this: Does the small pin that holds the clutch actuators camshaft into the drive gears cover plate have a name? I'm missing mine, it seems to be about 3/32" can I jsut replace that with a clipped finish nail or coat hanger? If I'm not describing it correctly, it's the pin that locks into the camshaft groove circled in red below. Thanks!

Don't know if it has a specific name but yes, you can use a nail, wire, drill bit, anything that will fit the hole. You're correct about the size too. It is about 3/32". As for length, it just needs to bottom out in the hole then be cut off flush with the surface.
As for keeping it there you can do what some kits do and dab a little epoxy over it or some make the pin a little shorter and peen the top of the hole over the pin. Either method will work but I prefer to peen. That's permanent.

I've often just drilled thru to the outside of the cover, put in a long, thin, screw, put a nut inside and trimmed off excess. Has always worked so far.

Yeah, actualy the previous owner took a chip out of the cover around the pin. there's still enough there to bite. I'll just clip a nail and glue the tip for bench testing.

I found the part, it's called a "Shaft Fixed Pin" for $2, nope, a clipped nail will do me just fine I think.

I tried the roll pin but like Tom said the housing cant take much pressure and I never found a roll pin that wasn't to big for the hole and if you drilled the hole out you will need to make the grove in the shaft larger also, learn this from experience, covers I had that had loose pins were fixd by cleaning the area around top of pin good and then with a mapgas torch heated the area and then flowed so Alumi weld Rod over that area and I have never had one come loose again.
