Cleaning Stock Exhaust

What is the easiest way to clean the stock chrome exhaust? My exhaust has a single nut at the bottom which looks like is holding on the bottom part of the exhaust but I've heard that it can be hard to take off. I was also thinking about flushing the exhaust out with some brake cleaner, although I am not sure if this is a wise thing to do. Should I try popping off the bottom of the exhaust and cleaning it that way?

My engine has been running so richly that oil has been dripping out the bottom of the exhaust and when testing for excessive back pressure, the exhaust now seems to have quite a bit of resistance. Now that I bought a CNS carb, I'm going to rejet it and dial in my A/F ratio. I would like to make sure that I am getting as much air flow as possible. What is the best way to clean the exhaust?

Thanks.

Just unscrew the end cap, slide the cap off & look at whats inside... Probably some degreaser or carb cleaner will work.
