choke up or down!?!?

Please help should choke be down or up when the bike is not in use?

If you have the NT carburetor the choke is on (closed) when the lever is up. If the engine isn't running it doesn't make any difference where it is. The choke should be off (open or down) when you're riding. Just remember to shut off the fuel petcock when the bike is parked.

What 2door said. You don't need to worry about your choke lever until you want to start the bike. In good weather, with the engine dialed in real nice, you probably won't need to worry about it at all. Most days in summer, I don't even use it.

I've brushed it on couple of times inadvertently- the motor usually strats fine, and then runs poor under throttle- I've wondered a couple of times what was going on- now that it's happened, I check that first and that's always been the source of poor performance.
