These carbs are fun aren't they?

HA. It is the most simple stupid carb I have ever seen... On the good side, it is nice and simple and usually works. On the bad side, it is to simple, and for people who are good with 2-stroke engines, can't be made to work well enough.
My old outboard has something like 5 screws on it for fine tuning. Not to mention a lever to fine tune the spark timing. Great little engine...

The jet is too big, or the needle is too high (clip too low).
Or possibly (doubt it) the taper too sharp on the needle.

Needle clip is 2 from top on a 5 position. I could try the top most position. But then it's on to the jet mods. Where to get those direct fit replacement jets? I'd rather buy a selection than solder/drill.

I live at 5000+ft mean sea level elevation. So as we approach 90+ degrees F. the pressure altitude will go over 7000ft msl.

I may try to do the jet tomorrow and go down a couple of thou. and see what happens.
