China Girl gear reduction noise

I have no idea which part is the 'gear reducer', but lots of grease on bucking bar and tiny amount on small bevel gear sometimes helps - if noise is worse when clutch is pulled, just live with it, as nothing can be done with hub bearing.

The noise is clearly the reduction gears, (what you call bevel gears). Just wondering how pronounced it should be. Larry

shouldn't be too bad usually, if you can start bike with cover off and get back wheel in air, you can check for wobble in the small gear (factory often fails to get it seated properly on the tapered shaft)

note also that if noise is only when bike is moving, it may be chain rubbing under drive sprocket cover

It is not bad, you can hear it easily under heavy load. I did put a little grease on the gears, they will likely wear in some and life will be good. Larry
