Though chewing gum will lock your foot down on the sidewalk, that's a good idea just buy another bottom end, atleast then if something else goes wrong with the bottom you'll have plenty of parts, and if you still want to fix the one you have now, the next best thing to do is take it to a shop and they can fix it to better than factory condition. Either way you can buy another factory bottom end with new clutch etc, or take to a machine shop, so there is an advantage to which choice you make
