Chamber and ports are painted

Got my first kit last week and pulled the head since I read some horror stories about shavings from the plug hole being found on the piston in some brand new engines. Well I didn't have any metal in there but the combustion chamber and ports were painted, about the only thing that wasn't painted was the cylinder. Do they do this to all the painted engines or did I just get a screw up? I cleaned it all off and the engine runs good but I'm debating if I should complain to the store. I know its not there fault but what if I hadn't pulled the head and never noticed until it was to late. Just wondering what others think of this.

I've heard of one that was entirely chromed before, hmmmm, China girls gotta love 'em or hate 'em or a lil of both actually...lol

I'm mostly curious if Flying Horse does this to all there black kits or did the painter just inhale to many fumes that day.
