Do i need to just switch the tensor around? I don’t know doesn’t sound like a good idea so im asking the experts here. Never had this issue before. This is my third bike.

If you need the offset in the bracket you can turn the bracket around, some bike frames require that. You may also have to twist the tensioner to get the chain aligned, I do it with a big adjustable wrench. I like the bolt heads on the outside of the mount, that keep someone from hitting the threads with their ankle went raising the kick stand.

Do you ever use a straight edge to check your chain line?
Rack of eye, doesn't work well. This being your third build, I am sure you know that.
