Chain sizes

Can anybody tell me wht the difference in the size of drive chain is as in 415-410 and whatever regular bicycle is and how chain is measured?

I've benn wondering that too. I was looking at this: Roller chain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia but it didn't tell me how 415 and 410 came into play. I'll probably have to read it more carefully.

This is a thread I had a while back. There is a link in the second or third post that sends you to a site and scroll down and look at the chart.

Just for reference a BMX or single speed chain is 1/8" wide and a multispeed bike is 3/32" wide. This is for comparison.

I went with the #41 chain which is a little wider than the 415 and helped straighten up my chain line being off.
