Someone said that the little clips that hold the throtle cable on Briggs engines work good for holding to the spokes.............Curt

Kestrel,
I just baling wire round the inside between the rim & the spokes. All
the force is in the direction of rotation; very little perpendicular to
the spokes, holds it just fine.

Probably not the best if you have a disk brake this setup...........Curt

Just like the clips that hold throtle cable to Briggs engines, a little flat clip with a hump that fits around the spokes and clamps to them..........Curt

Nice stance on that bike! Having a btr build going on myself and are in the making of the exact drivetrain you had in the beginning (briggs 5hp,beltdrive from clutch to centerhub and on right side ordinary chaindrive, rearhub is a surly mtb singlespeed.was it working at all or was it just at high speeds it got intresting?.building mine mostly for the looks but would be nice to have some function.must say your conversion looks spot on but i dont have enough claerence in the rear frame on mine.
