CDI Cracked

Quick question: I relocated the CDI on my bike, and when I tightened it up with the provided clamp, I over-tightened it and unwittingly cracked both sides of the body (black box) of the CDI slightly - not huge cracks, but definitely cracks - and when I loosened the bolts, the cracks mostly closed up. My question is, is this CDI toast? (I don't know for sure if the CDI is currently working because to be honest, I've never gotten the bike to run yet - first build). This is on a $150 standard basic kit. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Nope, the CDI components are encased in epoxy so no harm done.

I like to use large zip-ties to mount the CDI to the bike frame.

Thanks for replies. I used the zip ties and am confident that the CDI is not the reason why the bikes is not starting... wonder what is? Cheers
