Carb setting

Hi new to The forum I just built my first motorized bike yesterday.(80cc 2 stroke). the cab set screw was set at 4 1/2 turns out but it would not idle. I brought it in to two and a half turns and it seems to be idling better. How many turns out should it be, or is it just go by fell off the engine?

In my experience 1 1/2 turns out is the norm but you're right, your motor will tell you.

Thank you FOG. I now have it at 2 turns and she is real happy at ilde. Now I have a new problem, I have a steady leak out the carb air filter. It only stopped when I turned the fuel off from the tank. How do I fix the leak? Thanks.

It sound like the float level needs adjusting, always turn off the fuel when you stop the engine.

The float has a needle and seat that the float shuts off, you have to bent the arm slightly to adjust it. Take the carb apart and you’ll see , it’s very simple.
