carb promblems please help

I just got a nt carb to replace a cns...The thing starts but idles real high,and the idles screw doesn't drop it down any and it misses.What should I do need help?

Is there any extra slack in the cable?

That would be the problem.

Ya need a little free play.

One of two things is happening.

1. Either throttle cable is too tight.

or

2. Serious air leak.


Sounds to me like a not enough slack in the cable issue like has already been nailed down by Venice & Mike B

Hope you get it worked out soon and when you do you will really like the NT after you get it tuned in for your engine.

Ya... try giving the cable just a little slack!

thanks for the help it was in the cable it got all jam up with the spring in the carb.....slack now it even different in the throttle.
