Can someone recommend good durable replacement wheels for a 26" beach cruizer?

I want to do away with the lame coaster brake setup on the back wheel. I've looked on Gasbike.net but they're all sold out on that site. I have caliper brakes now just tired of having to deal with coaster brakes and periodically having to tighten rear hub assembly to remove wheel wobble. Would like to have higher quality bearings on it too. Thanks!

The Best you will find anywhere. Go with this combo and end Wheel and/or brake problems forever. Don't Skimp on wheels. Been doing this for 10 years on many - many bikes. Here you go. Also; Packed with grease and properly installed - Nothing beats a Shimano Coaster brake. GET the Shimano Hub. (my opinion)

Yes they are, only thing better or equal would be Worksman wheels, also a lot more money.............Curt

WOW, these are awesome wheels! I messd up and got mag wheels for my Cranbrook... these would've been so much better. *sigh*

Here I'm going to assume you're asking 26" wheels and not wheels for a 26" beach cruiser frame.

Whoever you decide to get them from I recommend at least 12 gauge spokes, 36 hole rim, cross 3 spoke pattern on double walled rims for the rear wheel. You should also consider getting either a 3 or 5 speed internal geared hub without a coaster brake. For the front wheel you can reduce the spoke size to 14 gauge spokes but stay with a 36 hole double walled rim and cross 3 pattern.

...I think using our tennis shoes as Brake Shoes "Fred-Flintstone-Style" works better than a Cranbrook coaster brake!

Ok guys. Thanks again for all the help. I’ll be purchasing the wheels when I get paid this week. Seems like soon as you start upgrading the cheap quality parts these cranbrooks can be really good bikes. Been really happy with mine. One more question is will my 1.5” hub adapter work with those wheels or will I have to buy a new one?

I ordered a set of Husky wheels this last weekend for my Huffy. Buddy of mine had a Huffy coaster brake break.
Major road rash, lucky rascal.
Regarding the Sturmey Archer XL, it does need a long draw brake lever. Mountain bike style and has slack take-up.

Tom, I got tired of spending money on wheels a few years back and the drive wheels on my bikes have given up except for
one old one which is a single speed bike wheel with the coaster brake. I will run it through the summer but it will go by the
wayside after that and get replaced with mag wheels. Messing with broken spokes and flats caused by spoke punctures
is not my idea of riding a motorized bike. I ran heavy loads on that bike and it held up for awhile but after breaking 3
spokes hauling groceries on it I have decided to replace the wheels. My 49cc 4-stroke will get a set of mag wheels with
disk brakes late summer. The good spoked rims and wheels are on motorcycles which are reliable but they still can't
compare to the cast mag wheels the wheels are a machine wheel. The prices on the spoked wheels is getting ridiculous
and unless you are wanting to produce a nostalgic vintage era bike then go for it.
