how come most websites that sell these motorized bicycles say they don't ship to california due to regulations? but other sites like zone8cycling do?

I am in Long Beach CA. Some places really have a war on with motorized bikes both electric & gas powered. Other places are pretty friendly.
Keep the smoke down
stay off the side walk
stay under 20 or the posted bike limit
stay off the beach bike path (daamit)
In Long Beach almost all streets have a bike lane. Long Beach is a very bike friendly city not so much with motors

It's because most of the engine dealers don't want to deal with the BS (& red tape) of Cali's 'clean air' laws.
