Cafe Creme - my Boardtracker project.

I was a bit nervous about attempting to roll the chassis plaque around the downtube, but it worked out fine.

The Edoardo Bianchi engine ident looks right at home too !

Here's a few more current pix. Next stage is to get the lower frame connector plates [ front to back ] fitted, should be back from laser cutters on Friday. Then it's all the little detail items and final accessory fitting. The electrics tray will fit inside the lower frame connectors and be totally hidden - I'm trying to get a "back to the 1900's look" with no evidence of modern fuckery. However, me and electrics do NOT see eye to eye, so I'm going to have to get some help to get a schematic for the rudimentary wiring loom. Just basics, no lighting or silly idiot lights everywhere.

I've got a couple of my new neighbours coming round in a couple of weeks time to help me lift the bike off the bench and on to the new scissor ramp that I've bought. You've all heard the story of the guy that built a boat in his basement [ and Gibbs ] and then had to ge it out ? Well I've got to get an almost complete bike off the bench !!

More progress - just waiting for the new lower frame connectors to be laser cut and fitted, then the bike can be lifted off the bench onto my new scissor stand.

New lasercut frame connectors now fitted, should be coming off the bench this week and I can button up the left side that I couldn't get to when it was on the bench !

Then comes my least favourite part .... the wiring and electrics - we just don't get on well together !

The end is finally in sight !

Red bike is my newly acquired 250, with the bonus of a complete unmolested wiring loom and components. Engine and loom now removed and the remains sold on for £300 ........ giving me a free engine and loom and £50 in cash over my purchase price !

The 250 engine - start of the strip down - ordered new valves, gaskets and top end barrel / piston kit. Bottom end all good, no play in the bearings. remarkably the oil was clean and debris free.

A bit closer now, just doing some detailing while I'm waiting for a friend of a friend [ ?? ] to weld up the gearlever footrest mount. Once that's done I can finalise the chain tensioner, chain alignment and fit up the gearlinkage and foot brake levers / rods.

Deleting any referrence to Yamaha !!

Apologies for non-comms - my computer was hacked and only just restored all my previous info. Old Biscuit, thanx for your continued interest, especially in the face of no updates !

The 250 engine build has stalled due to the ill health of my build buddy Brian. It's over at his garage while I continue with the rolling chassis and detailing. I have got new barrels and pistons and a pair of excellent used heads and all the components have been cleaned and polished ready for reassembly.

I've been nailing down all the little details and completing the chainguard, which I'm almost certain will be required by those in charge when it comes to parades, and maybe even the odd Boardrack event in Germany. Not that it would be competitive against the Harleys and Indians , but gives mea chance to show it off. The chainguard proved to be a right mission, mainly due to the fact I no longer have workshop facilities, but eventually finished [ this week ] and fitted. Doesn't look much I know, but a lot of hard work went into the completion.

Apart from finalising the 250 engine build there's the electrics to sort out - my least favourite task on any vehicle ! I'm hoping to find someone who can do that part for me, much as I dislike farming jobs out, I have to be realistic about my abilities.

The more you do, the better it looks. Love it.
