broke carb tab

i was trying to put a 90degree copper elbow on intake and mount carb to the side.
the pipe didnt fit right and i broke the lower tab on the carb(there very weak).
so i put some gasket maker on the intake pipe and put the carb tight and tighten it.
i lucked out and it works with no air leak so far.
but i still want to mount the carb on the side.

dont bend your carb tabs,they break easy.

to mount carb on side,because i dont have clearance for aircleaner
here is the 90 degree copper pipe size:
3/4" od fits inside carb - 7/8" od fits over intake: 90 degree elbow
i wish i knew this before,since nobody listed this anywhere.
now im going to lowes since the hardware store dont have very many pipe fittings.and now i have to get some jb weld to mount carb to pipe.
