yes actually, i already got the yd100 anyway, i tried to return it but they had a no return policy, so whatever. maybe next month ill get the phantom 85.
sorry for late reply but not sure exactly, whatever gets me going fast af. for now i gotta break in the engine, i just built it onto my bike. so gas/oil mix ratio, i'm probably going with at least 20 to 30:1 just for breaking in, then use 30 to 40:1 from now on probably. do i gotta mix the oil in every time i refill the tank? and what kind of oil is good enough? just regular 2 stroke oil?
also, do i have to actually mix the gas and oil, like shake it up or something? or is that not needed, just fill the tank with gas and oil?
Yes... It's very important to mix the gas & oil in a SEPARATE container & shake it well BEFORE filling your bikes gas tank.
These 2-stroke engine aren't like 4-stroke engines... 2-stroke engines don't have any oil inside them!
The only oil the engine has to keep from blowing up is the oil that you're mixing into the gas! (so it's very important that you mix it correctly & shake it well before filling the tank).
Alright, mix in a 2gal or so gas container then? And to refill, shake it up each time?
so, say, 40:1, that's 3.2 fl oz of oil, and 128 fl oz of gas? in a 1 gallon can, then into a half gallon tank? which is still 40:1.
For years I always mix mine, i by the oil in small jugs 40:1 size, dump it in gas can then go to gas station and fill it up, and shut the pomp off at 1 gal. That alone mixes it, just got to watch the pump so you don't go over or under to much..............Curt
YouTube is a great place to find tons of info on how to do things like ~ 'properly mixing gas & oil' , 'How to remove a broken bolt' & 'How to use a torque wrench' , (so you don't keep breaking bolts).
Isn't it like 120 in/lbs (or 10 ft/lbs or 13.6 Nm)? Manual says "1.4Nm (12ft/lbs) for M8, 1.1Nm (10ft/lbs) for M6". It's kinda hard to read those numbers because it's kinda blurred. 1.4Nm would be 1 ft/lbs, 1.1Nm would be 0.8ft-lbs, so I'm guessing they typed it wrong.
I already said.... YouTube has lots of videos on how to use a torque wrench... Go there & watch them all until one of them makes sense to you.
While you're there... watch the ones on mixing gas & oil, & extracting broken bolts.
You have any pictures of your bike/broken bolt? Some of the bolts that come with these kits are really junky.
I got the bolt out and figured out about the mix ratio, but thanks.
Most loose exhaust bolts are caused by vibration, if you don’t have a rear mount on it the nuts/bolts will shake loose. I use removable loctite on all nuts and bolts, they stay in place and can be removed when needed.
