Bike frame too big

Hello, I bought an "80cc" engine kit off ebay, My bike has plenty room for the engine, but the problem is that its an aluminium frame, so the bar going diagonal is too thick. The adaptor that came with it is just a little bit too small. Can I do anything about this? My bike is similar to the one below

Only way I know how to conquer this. Drill a hole in that plate that comes in the kit. As well as a hole in the bike frame. use a big bolt and nut. I’ve only done this to steel frame bikes. Might be an issue with aluminum frame not sure though. Someone else might know.
Cheers

Thanks for the Idea, Ill get to it in the morning

DO NOT DRILL THE FRAME!!!!!!
Get yourself a little piece of steel & a larger U bolt (& make a new front mount!
You should also cut a 'half moon' piece of pipe to use between the U bolt & the frame to protect the frame. ;)

Jude auto parts stores have larger sizes. The bike vendors that advertise in our forum also have clamps that will fit. Slow down and do it with the correct parts.

Yes Rick is right, slow down, don't get in a big hurry, if you do you will have a bunch of problems and fixens down the road. Kits are designed for stander-ed bikes, and must be mounted solid, no rubber........Curt

One more thing you should check.... Set the engine in the frame & turn the pedals to be sure the pedals don't hit the engine!
Those skinny tire bikes sometimes have narrower cranks than other bikes
