Looks like both, with a serial number we could date it and narrow that down.

It's a 1961 'double straight bar'... probably a Typhoon.

I thought only in 1962 did the top tubes flow down and are the same tubes as the dropout tube? I stick with 62 LOL! I dont think a serial # could help ID any further?? Just the date it was made. I like those frames.

Serial would have helped distinguish between the 60s typhoon and the 80s tornado. But since we know it's 61, solution found!

Not a 61 but is a 62 and the early 80s tornado was a 20" BMX...

1960 has the two straight bars 'detatched' from the rear seat stays; 1961 they are continuous from the seat stays. I own several of these bikes in both styles.
Post the serial # & I'll tell you the day it was made.

The 26" 'double straights' were mostly Typhoons.
I also saw a Schwinn 'Skipper' today that was just like that...

snatched it for $7.50 before the owner took it to the scrap yard! I plan on making my money back by selling the head badge to the highest Ebay bidder.
