Anybody try this kit??

egads. what a nightmare. i scanned that thread, and it doesnt seem like the Hoot is worth a hoot

Well there goes that idea, I guess Dax is the only game in town when it comes down to a reliable 4 stroke, I'm just not to into the rear mount set ups.

Buzz rear mount isnt going to affect the feel or the handling of the bike at all, to me its easier to work on also. I have a rear setup friction drive with the honda 50cc and am very happy with it except in wet weather. That dax setup is going to be my next kit some day and the 50cc motor that comes with it I havnt seen anything thats said thats not reliable about it......

That gearbox is described as chain drive while the Hoot is gear drive. Also BGF mentioned that his Hoot type box has been upgraded and is more reliable.

Is it possible time has come for 4 stroke setup that don't cost a grand?

BTW rear mount engine affects handling BIG TIME! Not in a good way.

Wrongo Dax makes a good rack mount...and an interesting somewhere-in-the-neighborhood-of-the-frame mount.

The Grubee gearbox is good (it better be- it's my 16 mile ride home today). The EZM seems good from all accounts. Some have even had a bit of success with the chain drive Hoot...but I have not heard enough good to endorse it.

talk with azbill about 4strokes. i believe he has an inside line (or did) on an improved 4-stroke kit with a simple, reliable, whisper-quiet drivetrain.

thanks Happy (spun) :)
I don't mind talkin about it as long as I get asked
I am not about to toot my horn in a thread about another kit otherwise !

pm me if'n you want info I guess

It appears to be an overpriced version of the regular chinese 4s kit like BGF sells. No relation to the original Hoot box which was gears. Unless it is the old gear type and being misrepresented.

I wish there was a single hint somewhere on these forums of what the current status is for chinese 4 stroke kits. Otherwise we're stuck paying a grand or so to get a dependable 4 stroke in which case I'd rather pick up 5 or 10 HTs.

Where do you find a 4-stroke kit for a grand? Dax, Staton, GEBE, none of them are near a grand.

I Just Took One Of Those Trannys Off A Pocket Bike Cag Motor (brand New) This After Noon. I Has A Single #25 Chain On The Sprockets With Grease Inside, No Oil. The Adds Looks Like They Put A Longer Output Shaft With The Free Wheel Sprocket. I Took Pic Of The Box Open. I Need To Dn Size Them And The Post Em. I Have A Few Of The Trannys, But Have Not Used Any Yet. When Spinning The Output Sprocket By Hand, It Turns Smooth And Free. It Seems Like Someone Posted Recently And Showed A Double Roller Chain Inside. .cvlt1

AFAIK no one has posted more than a few hundred miles with inframe 4 stokes before the gearbox broke down compared with 2 strokes which regularly tally in the thousands. I own four of the 4 stroke kits but fear to use them personally because of this. Would love to be proven incorrect.

As far as the new gearbox upgrades I think one is $650 w/o engine last I heard another only complete bike costing even more and one of these not actually available yet. Please correct me with the actual figures if this is inaccurate. Links?

What 4 stroke kits do you own?
What engines?
What gearboxes do they use?
why do you have 4 of them?
thanks
