ALL Florida Riders Please Read

How about a group ride this coming summer? Anyone else could join in also. I'm thinking a 2 day long ride. The route would be discussed and central to where the riders live. Meet somewhere early on a Saturday morning and ride until Saturday later afternoon. Get a motel room for the night then take off in the morning and ride till Sunday afternoon. Arrangements would have to be made for transportation to the meeting point and the Sunday pickup point.

Here is an idea: US-1 / 1A1 along the Eastern coast. All suggestions on a route are welcome.

and this sounds like a really good idea. I own Arnett Motor Bikes, and i have an ever growing customer base up here and i think most of my customers would be game for it. keep me posted on your progress in planning.

It looks like we all like a route along the eastern shore. Route 1A1 would have the best views as it follows the coast real good. I think no more than 50 miles a day would be good because we will probably be making a lot of stops along the way. Lots of good photo ops. People asking questions etc.

Saint Augustine to Ponce Inlet: 99.2 miles

Palm Bay to Ormond Beach: 95.8 miles

By my estimate it would take me at least 2-3 rear tires to get to St Augustine (lol) or I could haul my bike there in my car (no fun) but then I would have to plan on riding back the same route. Either way it sounds like a lot of fun to cruise a1a with 20 or 30 bikes.

So you're right in the middle and wouldn't need 3 tires just to get there. I went to highschool and college in Boca in the early 80's but if everything continued at the pace that it went back then, I probably wouldn't recognize anything. Would be a good way to see what changed tho. Anyway, if a group of riders agrees on a date I'll show up if at all possible.

My original thoughts were a one way ride. A round trip would have us going 200 miles. I figured, ride 1/2 the distance, spend the night, do the other half. That creates another problem. We would need someone to pick us up and bring us back to our vehicles.

Down and back would solve the transportation issue. But to tell you the truth 200 miles is a LONG way for these old bones.
