hey guys,
so- I just scored a sweet cannondale some drunken idiot threw off a bridge...the thing is soooo freakin ligh that my first instinct was to make a BTracer...

so the question is this; does anyone know if brass would make a viable tank material? or would I have to braze some sheet metal?

it should work fine. i've made 2 copper tanks, and was actually thinking of doing a brass one, if i can find the sheeting.

If you need (reasonably) inexpensive brass sheets that are large enough, look for a home improvement store that sells brass kick plates for the bottom of old-style wooden doors. I know I've seen some recently, but I didn't buy them because I don't need them. I figure two or three of those should get you enough brass for a tank.

OOOH, copper brazed w/brass would tickle me even more I think! thnx BAIRDCO! and by the way, you build some very nice bikes!

It's probably a stolen bike.....how do you know that the guy was drunk?

...and as for the bike, I know the mess of a kid, and have since contacted him about it...
he's just gonna pay me to fix it for him now, but still got that tank in mind for a nice light frame an a sweet BT racer!

I looked at the price of the kick panels and that wont do, so I found this link I have not looked at the prices yet but they have anything you could ever need. Have fun, Dave
