There's a nice little four stroke 40cc generator on Ebay right now that boasts a 12 Hr runtime for 2.5L gas capacity, that's better than the 8 hour runtime of the two stroke, and it would be quieter and more convenient too, sounds like a winner for a moderately powered series hybrid bike.

I like the thread. I'm new at this and not an electrical engineer but with a 5hp 4 stroke and a 500 w gen, using pedals whenever possible and power when needed would it be possible to get 400 mpg and burst speed of, say 40mph?

Try to add solar panels to that and you could be looking at a mere 15000 mpg.
