Hey Gang,I just finished making these side scoops/heat shields for my blue & white Schwinn and they work slick.I even put sound deadener on the inside of them. They are made of 18ga aluminum and have hidden mounting bkts.Any one else interested in a pair of them?PM me for details! Kip.

You want the carb drawing in cool air not preheated air. You might better cut the rear tabs off and remount them inboard as to shield the carb from the engine heat instead of directing it towards it.

on a better note...i think they look great....i would like to know what that black stuff is between your your frame and motor mount...?...Dennis

Thanks,Dennis. It works really good.On the Grubee kits the front mount has casting pockets in it and that keeps the "Puck"in place.I also cut a 1/4" thick piece for the rear mount sandwiched between the motor and the cast mount. For other motor kits that are smooth inside the front mount I cross hatch the inside with my dremil.

Does this not create a much hotter running motor by hiding the fins??

Looks nice, but I would be worried about excessive heat.

ANYONE who fly's a kite with your person in it is CRAZY. check out the old ram air suzuki's from the 70's

Reminds me of the old Suzuki RE5 rotary engine scoops.
I would think once in motion they should aid in cooling, and if not they still look cool.
