Here it is... My brand new Staton-Inc and my china girl on one bike. The weight is a bit much. Like around 40-60lbs of sheer awesomeness. The Staton makes my from tire hum. My tires are a hybrid. They are light offroad and pavement tires. The noise the clutch makes is kinda annoying but it goes away as u speed up. It goes fast too. I went for a 10 minute ride and i got a little cold. I didn't wear a jacket so the wind was a bit chilly.

I can run one at a time, or both at once. Cuz i have the staton throttle handle strapped around the china dools twist throttle, Twist and pull at the same time. Just gotta get a few bolts for the china doll. it loves to shake itself apart. lol Staton idles while i pedal and release the clutch to start the china doll. Combined, noise is rather loud. I only run one at a time while in town. When im offroad'n, i'll use both. I can be using the china doll and reach back and pull the handle on the stanton and it'll start right up. and then give the staton gas and its gas assisting gas. lol

Are both gear ratios exactly the same? it seems that if they wer'nt that one motor would be pulling against the other. Could be that, creating the excessive noise in the clutch at lower speeds.
 
They do pull against the other due to the different gearing. Both have clutch noise. The staton's clutch noise goes away as u accelerate.
 
Cool. Why don't you install the Staton friction drive on the front wheel?

I did. One engine for the front and one for the rear.

You would get better performance if you installed a flat-tread rear tire.
 
5-7heaven, My tire works great. The roller rolls on the center ridge, nice and smooth. My tires are thicker than smooth tread tires. Its got a flakjacket lining to keep all debris from puncturing my tire.
 
Okay, good then.

Do you raise the friction roller off the tire, when you're not using friction drive?

Just wondering.
