Re: 1st china girl 'fatboy slim'

well i tried to put the carb on the intake and there was no room at all so i needed a 90 degree elbow

i read a post that said you could use plumbing supplies so i went to the shed and found a 90 degree fitting used to install a shower head

the end where the shower pipe goes has threads and after grinding them down a bit it slid right onto the stock intake...i ground it down a small amount a few times til i got a tight fit.......then i smoothed the outside of the end that the pipe gets soldered into and that slid right into the carb

i was gunna JB weld it but figured a set screw couldnt hurt so i drilled a hole and threaded it then made a countersink in the intake and ground the screw to a point to fit into it......holds it nicely but ill probly JB weld it also once the build is done and im ready to start riding it

Yeah, I think you'll need to have some kind of sealant on it so that you have no air leaks.
Nice build ya got goin there.

I would use some kind of silicone, I'm not to sure how the JB weld would hold up on your intake. It may or may not, but I would want something on there that would be a little easier than JB weld to remove and re-apply as needed.

Re: 1st china girl 'fatboy slim'

well ive been out of the loop for awhile

after the test ride the bike ended up in the shed

broke it out this week and gave it a kick and to my surprise it started right up

took it for a spin and it rode great

now to tear it down get some paint on the new parts and get back on the road

i cant believe its been 3 yrs

time sure flies
