212cc predator build

welcome to the hobby that you tell yourself you won't spend a lot on. then end up with 8 bikes, 10's of half assembled and a few assembled engines laying around, every sprocket you can get your dirty greasy hands on and rims and spokes a glory and bike parts scattered across the basement. i told myself one engine, in the beginning. now i'm building my personal custom collection. from crap to fab, i ride 'em all. welcome to the club. welders make great tools.........

No way an aluminum hyper crusier is going to take the 212. And you took out the triangulation of the cantilever frame. This was my last bike. Had the seat post shovex all the way down as well.

Sorry but I'd have to say you are off to a very bad start, but are getting some good advice from the forum. I welded as a daily profession for ten years and straight up fact that 212 cc will snap those welds. They won't stand up to riding as a pedal bike let alone a high torque motorized bike. Welding 101 rule 1 don't attempt to meld aluminum & steel.

Frame strength is critical when motorizing a bicycle. Even a tiny 1.5hp 2 stroke kit motor will vibrate enough to find any frame weakness and crack it over time coupled with road pounding. I'd suggest reading and viewing photos of successful builders in this forum & learn stuff before continuing your build.
