was installing a mag, and about to clip & tape the white wire when I realized it was a 2-wire mag with a white wire just soldered to the blue tab of the coil
left the white wire there and taped the end well
now, if blue wire fails with bad connector or burned or broken insulation, I can cut the blue, untape the white wire and plug it into CDI and as they say in "The Wiz' ease on down the road
