I cut a foam rectangle and stuffed it into a sleeve of an old leather jacket, and then I fitted it into the aluminum channel.
Here you can see the special intake clearly. Also, you can see the way I moved the engine forward to gain clearance for the air filter.

I welded the aluminum parts together, then bolted it to the modified rear rack.
