Re: Belt Drive Cvt Trans Rack Mount Chain Drive Free

Thanks Motorbike, As I Have Stated Before, Your In Frame Cag Motor And Tranny Is A Super Neat In Frame Diy Build. It Looks So Much Nicer Than A Rack Mount. I Would Think You Could Sell A Ton Of Those Mounts. I Would Buy A Couple Myself!! Later, Ron > . . .cvlt1

Re: Belt Drive Cvt Trans Rack Mount Chain Drive Free

very cool set up, my only complaint is you removed the pedal power so technically you have a moped not a pedal bike any more which may cause issue with certain local officials. They make engines with the shaft on left or right side, why did you choose one with a right shaft for a Bike ?

But you have given me a very good idea as I have two bikes that are similar to yours and my first thought was to make a pusher motor for them, but your idea is alot better for what I want other than removing the pedaling part of the bike.
I think you have the wrong idea what a moped is. A real moped has pedal power and motor power, so this bike in its present state couldn't be classified as a moped, but yes, it's also not technically a bicycle with no pedal power, but he did state that he was waiting on a die and would have pedaling available. I have a Yamaha 200cc scooter and everyone calls it a moped, but it's a scooter, not a moped. It doesn't have pedals.

I completely understand what you're doing. I was simply commenting on Commander's definition of a moped, which was wrong. I did properly quote his post. Again, a moped has a motor and pedals.

Re: Belt Drive Cvt Trans Rack Mount Chain Drive Free

Update!! Ha Ha After Much Head Scratching And Dead Ends. Finally Think This Is A Good And Cheap Setup. Purchased Some Cheap Bb Kits, $3.66 A Kit. Use Only The Fully Threaded Sleeve On The Right Side In The Picture. It Couples The Two Freewheels Together. The .125" Spacer Between The Freewheels Keeps The Derailer From Hitting The Large Sprocket. The .062" Shim Between The Large Sprocket And The Wheel Hub Keeps The Freewheel Adapter From Screwing On To The Wheel to Far. So It Leaves Enough Inner Threads For Coupling The Freewheels. Had To Add Extra Axle Washer To Keep Pedal Freewheel Sprocket Off The Seat Stay. Should Still Have 3 Pedal Speeds With The Front Derailer. This Is A Cvt With The Dax Titan 4 Stroke. The Other 2 Stroke Cvt Is Still Together. They Are Identical Bicycles. Just Received The Bb Kits Today. The Shim Washers Are I 3/8" Id By 1 7/8" Od ( Perfect ) Mc Master Carr = 20 Shims For $25. Includes $5. Shipping. Ron >> >> cvlt1
WOW! Ron, Where did you get these from I've looked everywhere?
Thanks, Jack

Re: Belt Drive Cvt Trans Rack Mount Chain Drive Free

Good Mornig Jack. The Spacer Shims Came From "Mc Master Carr". They Are Perfect For The Freewheel Spacing.. My Two Builds ( Cvt-right Hand Drive-dual Freewheels) Have Been Trouble Free. I Do Not Have A Lot Of Miles On Them Yet. Planning On Doing It To My Stretch Cruiser, So I Will Be Closer To Mother Earth! I Like The Dual Suspension Ride Though. I May Make A Rear Suspension Stretch Cruiser Later. I Do Not Have The Part Number, If You Can`t Find Them Let Me Know. Mcmaster Carr Has Them!!! For Sure. Ron .cvlt1

Re: Belt Drive Cvt Trans Rack Mount Chain Drive Free

The Freewheel adapters with the Bb, I can't locate on the Staton sight.
I ordered a couple with7/8" and 1" keyed holes, but the bearings would be perfect.
Thanks for all your knowledge on this.

Re: Belt Drive Cvt Trans Rack Mount Chain Drive Free

Jack, I Sent You A Pm. Try To Cancel The Staton Order, They Will Not Work, As I Posted. I Posted On Both Forums, I Get A Bit Confused As To What I Posted On Each. Will HAve To Spend The Time To Update Both Forums With Up To Date Pics. I Was On Vacation For Several Weeks. . My User Name Is Treewk On The Other Forum, Sorry For The Confusion. Will Check And See If I Can Combine The Two User Names. Lol The Freewheel System Is Working Fine And Is Easy And Cheap. I Will Try Find And Post The Part Numbers For The Spacers At "mcmaster Carr" And The Bottom Bracket Kits For Less Than $4. A Set, Only Use The One Piece. The Thread On The Other Forum Is "cvt`s And Comet Drives" My Pics Are Post 56 Thru 67. Hope This Helps. I Should Have Posted The Part Numbers And Bottom Bracket Seller. I Searched For Hours To Find What I Needed For A Low Price. For Those Of You Interested, Review My Posts. The Free Wheels Are A Nice Option If You Have Pull Or Electric Start. The Forums Are So Great For All Of Us. Again, I Thank The Creators. Ron .cvlt1

Re: Belt Drive Cvt Trans Rack Mount Chain Drive Free

Here Are The Part Numbers And Suppliers For The Freewheel Spacers And Coupler. The Bottom Bracket Kits Are From "bike Parts Usa". `pyramed Bb Cup Set`. Enter This In The Search Box. The Kits Are Still $3.66. Now The Kit Comes With A Lock Nut That Could Be Used In Place Of The 1/8" Thick Spacer, Saving You $10. Plus Shipping. I Used The The Right Hand Threaded Sleeve To Couple The Free Wheels. The Other 1/16" Thick Spacer Comes From "mcmaster Carr" ( A Great Place To Buy Metric And Standard Bolts, Nuts, Threaded Rod For Head, Motor Mt Studs Etc.) The 1/16" (.062) Part # 3088a475 = 10/$9.26. The 1/8" (.125") Thick Spacers Part # 3088a519 = 10/$9.95. The 20 Spacers Cost Me $25. With S/h. Like I Day Service. With My Debit Card. I APOLIGIZE FOR NOT POSTING THIS INFO IN THE BEGINNING. I GUESS I DID NOT EXPECT THIS MUCH INTEREST. FEEL FREE TO POST QUESTIONS OR PM`S. RON .cvlt1

The Free Wheel Sprockets And Freewheel Sprocket Adapters (allows You To Bolt A Sprocket On And Make It A Free Wheel Sprocket, Sprocket Needs A 2 1/8" Center Hole). The Adapter And the free wheel sprocket Threaded Inner Race Is Thicker In The Center And Stronger Than They Appear, Hardened Steel. Ron
