you know, its funny, i found the exact same tank and thought "hey, this might work," but when i got home, it was too funny looking for me. so i went back and looked more closely and found this. i think its from a mid 70's suzuki. i don't know exactly since the guy here tears the bikes apart and groups the pieces into piles. i think if you change the angle of your tank, it might look better. how wide is it?

Hombre,
The tank is narrow, only about 9 inches wide. And I agree, it needs to be positioned better but I was just trying to get an idea of what it would look like. I layed a rubber glove across the bike so I wouldn't scratch the paint and just balanced the tank where it would stay without falling while I took a picture. Since then I've used some thin rubber to save the paint and set the tank where I think it looks best; further back and a little lower. Like I said, I'm starting to like the looks. I think if its painted to match the bike it'll look more at home.

The more I look at your tanks, the more I realise that the ones that come with our kits are goofy looking. No imagination went into them at all.
You guys are going to get mistaken for motorcycles though but all the power to ya

wow JEZUSJONZ, you have some real fabricating talents there, the 2nd and last pics are very nice ideas. I personally like the 2nd pic best as it will be very smooth looking when you paint it

If someone out there can make the "keg" style tanks to hang behind your seat have it hold about 1/2 a gallon or even less depending on costs and keep it at about 25 bucks I bet you wouldn't be able to keep up with demand.
HEINEKIN sells a small aluminum keg. Drink the beer, build the tank.

Excellent work B66! Houghmade's tank covers look great also.

I was just thinking about this myself last night while musing over the wonderful lines of the small Heineken "Keg" cans I picked up at the Cona' Sto'.

I'd like to make an actual tank out of either one of these little 12oz jobs, or maybe even buy a real mini-keg and seal it off somehow and rig it to work on it's side on a rear cargo rack, as a cylindrical fuel tank. My Lady also suggested that a small tank that looked like a recsue St. Bernard's Brandy barrel would also make an awesome looking version of a fuel tank too.

Where's the fella who made those cool little rear rack mounted SS cylindrical tanks? I know I saw it here some time back..
