for the price and aggravation Red, just order another engine . for less than 100$ you could just replace the entire engine ya know.

I have considered that but....this one runs like a scolded dog. I'm on the list for a new motor from Creative "Jim".

There seems to be a clutch epidemic going around with the round clutch pad engines.

Apparantly, there was a defective production run of poorly fused clutch pad material. The result is clutch pads wearing down like pencil erasers. I have went through one set of round pads already and am almost through another set. I have to tighten my clutch daily until there is nothing left. I ordered a set of the carbonite clutch pads from Pipelyne and they should be here today.

I hope so, because I am almost out of clutch again.

They will fit because we used them in 6 of our HT motors and all of them are still on the first set.

am I incorrect in assuming that a new clutch should drop onto the shaft ? as I said I sent a clutch back to Rick for this reason,it simply wouldnt fit the shaft and the keyway was noticably different in my world if something looks wrong it usualy is but I am curious if anyone else has had this experience.
Im speaking of the whole clutch not just the pucks.also I have sort of square pucks, are these available? I seem to be having a hard time finding the unit....Rob in CT

The square pucks are availale. I pulled the round puck clutch off and replaced it with a square puck clutch....no problem...On the road again!!dance1

Finally got the carbonite round clutch pucks from Pipelyne.
Gotta say they look great. Much harder material than the stock
whatever it's made of. I'm gonna go put em' in and take her for a spin.

PIPELYNE

After being quoted $14.00 on the phone...I offered 20 to have them shipped priority (March 24) "Deal...I'll have them out this afternoon" I finally received them (13 days later) and was charged $24.95 on my credit card.

Doesn't seem like a good business practice to me, I was told they were mailed last friday (27th)postage stamp showed April 3.

Hmmm.... I was quoted $19.00, but then I was charged $24.95.
He may want to practice some consistency.

I did install the clutch pucks in the bike and took it for a ride tonight.
I tried to slip the clutch as much as possible, I went up few hills as well
given it the onion. The clutch never lost its' grip or gave any sign of immediate wear.
I'm going to crack open the cover tomorrow to see if there is powder from
the new clutch pucks loaded up as I've been observing from the stock clutch pucks.

The pucks have a good positive feel and don't slip when I kick start with the crank.
I think Pipelyne's pucks will be the last ones I'll have to buy for this motor for a long long while.
