I kind of have always wanted to do that, put some kind of a dirt bike engine on my bike frame. The only thing is that I don't know if it requires some kind of custom engine mounting to make it work. But it would be nice to not have to pedal to start moving and start the bike going.

There has been those in the past who've put in kick starts on both 2 and 4 stroke setups. Yet the still had a tendency to have issues with them. This is where when it comes to the bicycle drive system a multi gear setup is better than a single speed setup.
You'll have options as to what gear you use to start with and what gear provides the best pedal assist to the engine when needed.
