What are these in the trunk of a 69 Firebird??

A friend of mine has this 1969 convertible 400 Firebird & we can't figure out what these are in the trunk.

There's one on each side just in front of the tail lights.. He thinks they're weights for drag racing... I think they might be something for the convertible top.

Do any of you know what they are??

Those are cocktail shakers LOL
Body Dampers, because with the convertible at high speeds the body would shake
The Dampers prevent the body from shaking at higher speeds

I think each cocktail shaker weighs 25 lbs

My 67 Firebird was a hard top. Mine had a tach on a dual scoop hood. 67 was the first year they made Firbirds
