Piston Pin Location

I need to replace my piston and on pistonbikes.com there is a distinction between pistons based on the height of the piston pin, though on gasbike.net I’m not able to find two different sizes. Does anyone know the repercussion if I were to hypothetically pick the wrong size and run the engine? I know what size my piston is and which one to get, but the piston set I want to purchase on gasbike doesn’t specify, which leads to my concern.

My personal guess would be that the compression would be different but I’m not sure how that would change how the engine would run.

My piston is “A” in the attached picture

If you install a type B piston on a type A rod/cylinder the piston would exit the top of the cylinder, if you install a type A piston in a B engine you would not have enough compression to run because the piston would not reach the top of the cylinder.

Yes I found that out the hard way, but lesson learned.
