Just WOW! I'd have to sell some of my stuff, then one of those 70% twins could make it onto my shopping list just as soon as the UK strikes a zero import tax trade deal with the US. C'mon you political types, get those talks underway sharpish!

From what I've seen this is the lowest priced full scale motor available in a believable early model engine, it's less than half the cost of the Argentina "Power plus" Daytona Indian replica motor, which may or may not still be available from the builder.

Using 883 Harley parts in an Indian replica may sound like an awful idea to true believers of either the Indian or Harley brands, but that's one reason they can keep the price down and keep it serviceable as a practical rider. I'm collecting more info & hope to gain some insight into this beautiful project.

The 70% scale model seems to follow the off the shelf design, I'd guess Honda, but that's just my guess. It's a beauty that should lend itself to easier bicycle frame style builds and more affordable. It's a dang nice replica of the Indian F head too. 310cc should be great for single speed projects, plenty of torque.

Emissions requirements mean no registration, except as an antique, so some may be able to fake it with the DMV. Not suggesting just saying.....

Gone. Real shame! I saw one of those 70% v-twins in my future for sure. Kicking myself for not ordering one when I first saw details on his website. Lesson learned.
Hoping it won't be like the situation with my range of Backwoods Miniatures etched brass loco kits I used to manufacture. Now I watch second hand versions re-sell for three times their asking price when they show up on eBay...
 
The motors I referred to were made in San Diego and i called him at the request of a friend who had an interest in commercializing these engines. Nice guy and think he was for real, but suffered some setbacks with his casting molds getting lost by the folks he was dealing with in Mexico. This was a big financial setback. Really a long story and some of it was second and third hand so I won't go into it (though I think the stories told fit together well) my subsequent calls were not returned however.

I hoped he might eventually find a financial partner and perhaps he will. His initial asking price was actually far less than other extreme low production replica motors I've come across in Texas, Argentina and Canada.

Hi Pete, no those motors are scaled to display more 1/2 scale size. These were replica at close to full scale for actual mounting to a rideable frame.

I mentioned two others machined engines which are also full size made in Canada and Argentina but a third was made in El Paso' Tx. All extremely expensive' if even still availible. It's been a few years since I had contact with any of them so I've no idea of their status or if still producing engines.

The most authentic of them all was the complete Indian Daytona board bikes' made in Buenos Aires astoundingly beautiful. Two years ago they had ceased production and only had a couple of pre owned bikes still available. The custom builder in Canada was quoting delivery in years' not months at prices' well into 6 figures for a complete bike.

I'll look back at my records to see if I have web or phone info still. I kinda' wonder if any are still around' but hope so.

I'm on a couple of Facebook 'Board Tracker' groups and posts from the Buenos Aires Indian boardie replica outfit appear with monotonous regularity. Due to lack of group 'comments' every time, I can only assume this is a well known scam. The poster claims $5k F.O.B. will get you one of these beauties in either 'new' or 'patinated' finish - which definitely falls into the too good to be true category for 99% of those folks seeing these posts. Most times the posts appear, no-one pipes up, but a month or so ago a guy in the US posted a warning saying this outfit scammed him out of his $5k. If I thought for one minute the posts were genuine, I'd have sprung for one when I first saw these Indian boardies mentioned. That banana boat sailed without me on board.....
 
Pete my contact name is Juan Carlos Lippmann in Buenos Aires but phone # is no good. Facebook is still up but no activity since 2019 photos and videos are active though and worth viewing.

The last time I was able to pull up a web site age it was being used to sell Viagra substitutes at discount lol.

I have a nephew in Buenos Aires and will elist his help to locate this gentleman and or the company. The old Facebook comments do mention $5,000 the limit which can be mentioned for a single item for sale but the wording indicates this isn't the actual price. The web site I originally used does not work. The bike I referred to as having helped facilitate a purchase for a U.S. company; was actually purchased used from an individual which Juan put me in contact with. The sale went through without a hitch and the buyer was pleased with the purchase. I have no actual knowledge of the actual price paid. I just located the bike and put the two principals together. I suppose this bike still is in the U.S. these bikes are really as good as it gets and put out about 20 hp. I feel offers on Facebook are certainly scams taking advantage of the live Facebook material still as active. I put in a friend request with Juan today.

Yup, Juan Carlos is the contact name still showing on the Facebook posts. Post will probably crop up on the Facebook group at least twice this week....
I've seen one or two group members enquire about shipping and when they do the poster says "send pm" - so someone is still hoping to make a killing.
 
Interesting note when they announced this bike about 2013 the principals involved were of Italian decent I didn't recognize the name Lippmann at all from the original founders. Now my memory isn't perfect, which shouldn't surprise anyone on this forum, but I cautioned the purchasers of the bike to be cautious and obviously they were. I'm pretty certain they closed on or before 2020. The family was from a racing heritage and had a great engineering background. They obviously had a great love for these bikes.

Comeback Motors was the original company name and that still comes up in search. With phone and email as well as a physical address. This should help my nephew start a search.

Update the partners were father and son originating in Lithuania and their partner Tomas Daniel. Engine internals used A lot of Japanese parts for dependable operation and ease of production. Cost savings and replacement parts rather than having to custom fit hand made parts.
