I have run into a snag on my first build. The throttle set that came with my kit will not fit my one inch diameter handlebars. I have found several on line to purchase but they do not say what size handlebar they will fit. Any suggestions? Also on a side note does the carb have to be completely level to run right?

Thanks in advance for your help.

too small. I used a veneer caliper to measure my handle bars, they are one inch, the inside of the throttle grip is .973. If I understand how the grip works, it must spin around the handle bar freely.

I have encountered this very issue. For your controls to slide on and fit properly you need a 7/8 bars with a 1" swell at the center where the bars bolt into the gooseneck. This metric measure (1inch) swell is 25.4mm. if this helps. Also for replacement info, if you like the bars you have, measure width from end of right to end of left. Also Rise. Rise is how high the bars are shaped up from the center swell. Carb doesn't have to be perfect level But as level as you can get it to avoid float problems. Normally - rear engine mounted securely to seat post determines engine angle.

Thanks Allen Standley. I was hoping to not have to buy new handle bars. If that’s what it comes to then that’s what I’ll do.

Thanks again.

Some motorcycle handlebars are 1" diameter, so you might find a throttle grip from one of those to use. But it you want to use the kit parts, you'll need a 7/8" bicycle handlebar.

Thanks Junglepig, I may have found one and have sent them an email on the inside diameter of their throttle.
