Crank bearings

I'm going to be installing a reed vave, windowing the piston, adding a boost port and an expansion chamber, so I want to replace the crank bearings first with some quality Japanese ones, probably SKF. Do any of you know where to get some for a descent price without too high of a shipping cost? Thanks!

I need the same info. I looked up some videos on yt and saw I needed SKF 6202-2RS C3 bearings but still don't know where to get them from.

Thanks Felix for your reply. I know you need the bearings with the neoprene seals, because you need to remove the one that faces inside the crankcase...your gas/fuel charge will lubricate it, it only makes sense to me to make these china motors as good as can be, even if left totally stock. I've heard people say they are throw aways, they last about a year and then they're done...I've had my motor for at least 5 years...it runs like a bat out of heck, but I did tons of things before i ever installed it in the frame. I made sure the flywheels on the çrank were noticeably bakanced, set the float level, it came set way too high. And I drilled holes inside my stock muffler, removeable silencer, to help exhaust exit in not such a restricted fashion. Ok, enough on that, I'll do a major search instead of trying the forum way out...ler you know what I find Felix

Almost forgot, the carb ślide needle was twi slots too high, the first time I started it up, it would idle like a sewing machine. Am also going to change from a 44 tooth rar sprocket to most likely a 41...I would love a 39 tooth, but can't seem to find that size in 39 tooth

Awesome mods bro, the red bike in my pic I've had for 6 years now. It was my first build and didn't know we had to do anything before i set it up. I was lucky i guess because 6 years later and over 4,000 miles and two rear tires I will finally have to open it up to replace the crank bearings as it started to leak oil onto the clutch pads/gear side. It still runs strong but I imagine its because the bearing seal (clutch side) went out. Its a grubee Skyhawk gt5 kit from gasbike.net

Mine was an SD Stinger 66cc. I dremeled the case transfer ports to match the cylinder, milled the head .010"

Well Felix I've been doing lots of research and, imagine this, ebay seems to be the best option. You know replacing the clutch shaft bearings would be great too, but the crank bearings are the most important...Don t forget to remove that inward facing seal on those crank bearings!

Yes I plan on replacing all four bearing and removing the seals on the inside crank bearing only. EBay does seem to be the best bet. If you can, when you do order some please let me know from who and how they work out for you. I plan on working on mine during summer break. Good luck bro

do google for '80cc crank bearing' to find one that has one side seal removed - I've seen folks ruin the cage taking one side off
