Mods to get the engine installed and working: I shortened the rear mount about 1/2 inch, modified the large tube plate adapter for the front mount to allow it to fit better. On the rear wheel I cut about 1/8 inch off the axel shim on the right side and put washers on the left side so the rear wheel was shifted right about 1/8 inch for chain clearance to the rear wheel support arm. Removed the front shift mechanism to make room for the throttle and double pull brake lever. Moved the rear shifter to the left handle grip to allow the brake and throttle on the right side. Installed the double pull brake lever. Both the Gas tank and the spark coil are bedded to the frame using Shoe Goo or Goop, this stuff works perfect for this, easy to put on and rock solid when it sets up. It can be removed. Think this is about all that was needed. Larry

I assemble bikes at walmarts. The granite peak has cheap hubs, cheap tires, cheap brakes, cheap... well, the whole thing is cheap. The motor will probably outlast the bike. Which isn't sayin' much.

Just saying I came from Craigslist, from personal experience with my granite they are by far the worst poorly set up bike ever out the box the chains going to snap shortly after driven the sprocket assembly will not break in as they are spread way to far apart.

You have better luck junking the bike and slap that on the price of the kit removed but doing access work to account for it being Chinese.
Thread locker sealant.

Good luck BTW had a **** of a ride today.......

Another 36.2 miles front and back included on my bike. I'm at about 650-700 miles traveled already on a jacked up bore, all I have to say is treat it like a car and it will last past 10k miles. Treat it like trash and it will grenade.

I can't disagree with you that it is a cheap bike, $68.00 for the bike and $79.00 for the engine kit is the entire point of the build. It went together without much modification and those only required hand tools. It runs great and rides nice, the suspension front forks definitely make for a much better ride than solid forks do. Only real upgrade was a double pull right hand brake lever so I could use both front and rear brakes on it and the removal of the front de-railer and control hardware to de-clutter the bike. Larry

If you have a local bicycle store that sells new and used parts like recycled cycles just change the chain run in the rear and upgrade the shifter to thumb shifters it will be worth $250.00 tops,

I can't disagree more about the solid forks my bike is a "the realm bike"

Front fork is a solid and has a bit of play in it no matter how tight you tighten the top nut to the fork. I hate it I ride like a cafe racer to keep my speed.

If I stand up my bikes slower. Intact

Go to recycled cycles NE Seattle.

**** if I won't so broke ID buy the motor only from you, or the bike as a parts bike.

They actually are legal, just varies county to county. Check the rcw says nothing motorized bicycles it says moped 2 or more wheels 2bhp and must not go faster then 30mph.

So I'm legally allowed to ride as long as I'm within proper area confines.

What is defined as illegal under rcw is riding on the side walk, riding with no license, riding on trails that are offroad only because the fear of sparks kicking in a dry field.

Quote On quote: passing 30mph non assisted = motorcycle.

Not once does any rcw say that "motorized bicycling is illegal."

Electric bicycles are more along the fine line of becoming completely illegal because some past 20mph and the newer ones go up to 50mph.
